My Story
My delicious old-world recipes
When my mother emigrated from Afghanistan, she brought delicious old-world recipes with her. Complex, aromatic, and elegant, her spice blends represent the diverse flavors of Central Asia. My dream was to recreate our family recipes and share them with the world, one meal at a time. With JAHAN, meaning "world" in Farsi, I'm able to do so while also honoring my mother, Jahania, and the countless traditional home- cooked Afghan meals she made for family with love.
JAHAN’s mission is to support women’s education in Central Asia. When women are educated, families see economic growth, food insecurity is alleviated, children grow stronger, and communities have promise. Proceeds from every purchase of JAHAN go to Women for Women International’s emergency response to provide Afghan women with basic needs and the freedom to learn.
